About this product

Super Seed Mix brings together five of the most nutrient-dense edible seeds in one daily blend. No fillers, no flavourings, no added sugar, just clean seeds in every handful. A simple way to add plant protein, fibre and omega-3 to food you already eat.

What is inside

  • Sunflower seeds: vitamin E, selenium, healthy fats
  • Chia seeds: omega-3 ALA, fibre, plant protein
  • Flax seeds: lignans, ALA omega-3, digestive health
  • Pumpkin seeds: zinc, magnesium, iron, omega-6
  • Watermelon seeds: protein, amino acids, B vitamins

How to use it: stir into smoothies, overnight oats, yoghurt bowls, porridge and salads, blend into chutney, fold into ladoo and energy balls, or simply eat a spoonful a day.

How to eat seed mix for weight loss

Seeds do not burn fat. What they do is make a meal more filling for the calories, which is what actually makes a diet stick. The fibre in chia and flax absorbs water and slows digestion; the protein in pumpkin and watermelon seeds blunts the mid-morning dip that sends people to the biscuit tin.

The dose: 1 to 2 tablespoons a day. That is roughly 10-20 g. More is not better – seeds are calorie dense at about 150 kcal per tablespoon, and going straight to four spoonfuls of unfamiliar fibre will mostly make you bloated. Start with one, drink water with it, and build up over a week.

Timing that works: with breakfast, or 20 minutes before a meal you tend to overeat at. Grind the flax portion if you want the omega-3 and lignans absorbed rather than passed through.

Three ways to actually get it down every day

  • Overnight oats. 1 tbsp seed mix, 3 tbsp oats, 150 ml milk or curd. Leave in the fridge overnight. The chia thickens it into something closer to pudding than porridge.
  • Curd bowl. 1 tbsp stirred into a katori of dahi with a little black salt and jeera. The simplest version, and the one people stay consistent with.
  • Seed chutney. Dry roast 2 tbsp lightly, grind with roasted chana dal, garlic, dried red chilli and salt. Keeps a week in the fridge and turns idli, dosa or roti into a protein-carrying meal.

One mix, or five separate packs?

Rulife Super Seed Mix is ₹199 for 200 g and ₹379 for 400 g – the larger pack works out cheaper per gram. Buying the five seeds separately means five packets, usually 200 g or more each, so you end up with over a kilo of seeds in the cupboard.

That is the real problem with buying separately, and it is not only the cost. Seeds are high in unsaturated fat and go rancid within a few months of opening. You will finish the chia and flax quickly and still be looking at most of a bag of watermelon seeds a year later. A pre-blended mix in a size you will actually get through keeps every spoonful fresh and keeps the ratio balanced without you measuring five things.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which seeds are healthiest to eat daily?

Chia, flax, pumpkin, sunflower and watermelon seeds cover the widest range between them: omega-3 ALA and fibre from chia and flax, zinc and magnesium from pumpkin, vitamin E from sunflower, and protein from watermelon. Eating them as a mix is easier and more balanced than buying five separate packs. See why these five seeds belong in your daily diet.

How much seed mix should I eat per day?

One to two tablespoons a day is a sensible serving for most adults. Seeds are calorie dense and high in fibre, so increase gradually and drink enough water, particularly with chia and flax.

Are seeds good for weight loss?

The fibre and protein in seeds help with satiety, which can make them useful as part of a controlled diet, but they are energy dense so portion size matters. One to two tablespoons a day is the usual range. See best seeds for weight loss.

Should I eat the seeds raw or roasted?

Both work. Raw retains slightly more of the heat-sensitive nutrients, while light dry roasting improves flavour and crunch. Do not roast at high heat, as the omega-3 in chia and flax degrades.

Do flax seeds need to be ground?

Whole flax seeds can pass through undigested, so grinding them improves absorption of the omega-3 and lignans. Grind just before use, since ground flax oxidises quickly.

Should I soak the seeds first?

Soaking is optional but helps. Chia forms a gel when soaked, which works well in puddings and overnight oats. Soaking also makes the seeds easier to digest.

How should I store the seed mix?

In an airtight container in a cool, dark place, or in the fridge in warm weather. Seeds are high in unsaturated fat and will go rancid if left in heat or light. Use a dry spoon.

Can children and pregnant women eat it?

Seeds are generally suitable in normal food quantities, but flax in large amounts is sometimes advised against in pregnancy. Check with your doctor, and introduce seeds to young children in small, well-ground amounts to avoid choking risk.

How to use it

A spoonful a day in curd, oats, smoothies or salads. Keep the pouch sealed after opening.
