Choose your oil
All oils are extracted without heat or chemicals. All ghee is hand churned by the Vedic Bilona method.
Most festive hampers are decorative. This one is a month of cooking. For Diwali, Dhanteras, housewarming and wedding gifting, a jar of real bilona ghee and a litre of cold pressed oil is the rare gift that the receiving household actually finishes – and it quietly replaces the refined oil and commercial ghee already in their kitchen.
Pick mustard for a North Indian household, groundnut for a family that fries and cooks South Indian food, and coconut for Kerala cooking or for anyone who will use it on hair and skin too. If you do not know their kitchen, groundnut is the safest choice – it suits nearly every style of Indian cooking.
Add gift wrapping and a note at checkout.
Best for: setting up a clean kitchen from scratch, replacing refined oil and commercial ghee together, festive gifting, and households that want one ghee and one everyday oil.
100% pure · No additives · FSSAI certified
Pick by cuisine. Mustard oil if you cook North Indian food, make pickles or want a pungent tadka. Groundnut oil if you fry often or want a versatile everyday oil with a high smoke point. Coconut oil if you cook South Indian food or also want it for hair and skin.
Yes – it is a consumable gift that a household will actually use rather than store. Ghee and cooking oil are needed in every Indian kitchen every week, and most people will not buy themselves the bilona version. Gift wrapping and a note can be added at checkout.
They do different jobs. Ghee has a very high smoke point and carries fat-soluble flavour, which suits tadka, roasting and finishing. Cold pressed oils bring their own character to sabzis, frying and pickling. Most Indian kitchens have always kept both.
Cold pressed oil is mechanically extracted at low temperature and keeps its natural aroma, vitamin E and antioxidants. Refined oil is extracted with heat and solvents, then bleached and deodorised, giving a neutral oil with a longer shelf life but far less nutritional value. See cold pressed oil vs refined oil.
There is no single answer, and rotating oils is generally sensible. Groundnut and mustard oil both perform well on fat composition. See best cooking oil for heart health.
For a family of four cooking daily, 500 ML of ghee typically lasts around a month and 1 L of oil around three to four weeks, depending on how much you fry.
Both in a cool, dark place away from the stove, with caps closed and dry spoons only. Neither needs refrigeration. Coconut oil will solidify below 24C, which is normal.
Pick mustard, groundnut or coconut oil. Makes a ready gift.
